The Amazing Shrinking Child

I forgot to put Evelyn's growth stats in that last post and I think there are some people out there who are interested in this sort of thing.

At her 4 month check up Evelyn weighed 11lbs 1.6 ounces-that's the 10th percentile. She was 22.5 inches tall which is the 5th percentile and a half inch shorter than she was a 2 months. See chart below.

This leaves us with 2 questions:
1. when are those Otto genes going to kick in?
2. did we really need one more reason to question medical care in Mississippi?

  1. Length measurements are very difficult to do accurately. W and E's are all over the place. Most Pediatricians just want a general idea of your babe's growth trend.

Is Evvy exclusively BF? If so, the general charts most Peds use won't give a very accurate comparison. BF babies tend to be lighter than those who get formula. I believe that there are some charts out there for exclusively BF babies, if you're interested.

  2. You made a growth chart?! Either you really had a lot of free time while on house arrest or you're just an overachiever.

My guess is a bit of both...

  3. We love babies of any graphing! They laugh, they're good to go.

  4. Terri--yup, she's exclusively breastfed. We figure she'll be tall soon enough and that she should enjoy this period of her life. :)

    Alisha--or option 3, I'm a huge dork.
